We need many hands to meet the many needs of our community.
In response to this need, Orono Rotary has created the Gather & Give program to have a more direct impact on the individuals and families in the Orono School District community that are most in need as a result of this pandemic.
Some of the more urgent needs include:
Printer paper...with kids learning from home, families need paper to print classroom work. Perhaps you know of a business that could share supplies as more people are working from home.
Printer Ink...same reason as above. Best Buy and Office Depot gift cards work best.
Cleaning/Paper Supplies...soaps, detergent, disinfectant of all kinds, sponges, wipes, toilet paper, etc.
Art Supplies/Games and Activities...many need creative ways to keep kids of all ages occupied and learning. Accepting gently-used markers, crayons, coloring books, yarn, small toys, puzzles, etc.
Masks...homemade or other
GIFT CARDS...of all kinds, but especially for food.
Monetary Contributions...Donate money to the Orono Rotary Foundation (earmarked for the Gather and Give program) and we’ll use it to fill in the needs. Instructions below.
Distribution channels are already in place. Orono Rotary will work with the Orono Schools, Orono Community Education, and other area organizations to get these items to those in need. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROGRAM WITH NO SET DEADLINE.

Orono Police Station: 2730 Kelley Pkwy, Long Lake, MN 55356 (M-F 8-4:30)
Maple Plain City Hall: 5050 Independence St., Maple Plain, MN 55359 (M-F 9-4:30)
Mint Roofing: 2285 Daniels St., Long Lake, MN 55356 (M-F 8-4:30)
There will be receptacle boxes at/in the entrances of each location and hand sanitizer available for people doing the drop-off.
